Community Events for the Next Two Weeks from PhillyRising and Philly311

2/27- The Philly311 Mobile Squad will be going out to the Tioga United Methodist Church to discuss the Philly311 Contact Center and Services that we offer. This meeting is open to the public. (Tioga United Methodist Church, 3259 N Broad Street, 6:00pm-7:30pm)

2/27- The Mural Arts Guild is working with the Philly Urban Creators every Monday and Wednesday to assist in building the capacity of the community garden program. Projects will include building greenhouses, painting murals, and building toolsheds. Expertise from the on-staff carpenter will also be provided by the Guild. (11th and Dakota-Penrose Neighborhood, 10:00am – 3:00pm)

2/27- “Please join us for the PhillyRising Quarterly Meeting in Frankford: This meeting is a public forum where you can share your ideas on how to make a better, stronger neighborhood! We will review work that has been completed over the last few months and identify new projects for the future.” (Aria Hospital, 4900 Frankford Ave, 19124, second floor conference room, 6:30pm – 8:00pm)

2/27- Philadelphia Youth Music Program in Point Breeze (Fall Classes) “Learn about the music business and get free music production training, engineering instruction and artist development by music industry icons. This activity is free for young people in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia. The program works with young people between the ages of 12 and 17 years old.” (Wilson Park Community Recreation Center 2500 Jackson Street, 4:00pm – 7:00pm)

2/28- The Welcoming Ctr. Small Business Capital Fair “Are you a small business owner/entrepreneur looking to expand/grow or start a new business? If so, attend this event and register at:http://www.phillybizevents.org or Call 215-556-2626” (PEC Community Center 325 N. 39th Street 9:00am-12:00pm)

2/28- Election Day Experience ”Voters are encouraged to tell their stories or make recommendations by visiting the website http://www.phila.gov/election2012, and by calling or texting (267) 209-FACT. Voters need to include their contact information and voting location in case follow-up is needed.” (Bright Hope Baptist Church, 1601 N. 12th Street, 4:30pm 7:00pm)

 3/2- 35th Police District Community Meeting The Philly311 Mobile Squad will be attending the 35th Police District Community Meeting to share information with this community.  The squad will also recruit for the Neighborhood Liaison Program.” ( Broad & Champlost Avenue 10:00am-11:30am)

3/5- Reading at Hartranft Members of the PhillyRising Team will be reading Dr. Suess to the Students to celebrate National Literacy Week”( 7th and Cumberland, 8:00am – 12:00pm)
