In the past, our Records Department has worked with PhillyVIP and its pro bono lawyers to provide research, deed recordings and other related assistance.
This philanthropy did not go unnoticed. On March 18, the Records Department was awarded with the Juris Award (Gold Award) by PhillyVIP at its annual ceremony.
As per its website, PhillyVIP promotes equal justice to the poor by providing civil legal services not otherwise available, collaborating with other legal services organizations and promoting a culture of volunteerism by educating and exposing attorneys and law students to issues of poverty. The Gold Award is the highest award given at the annual ceremony. The 2013 Gold Award was given to Joan Decker (Records Department Commissioner); Joseph Gilorma and Linda Townsel (from the Records Department); and Terry Garfinkel (Deputy City Solicitor).
But that’s not all. The Records Department was also recognized with the Customer Service Excellence Award at the second annual MDO Awards on March 13th. This award went to Joan Decker, Jeanne Reedy, Lynda Yerkov, Gregg Buber and Carl Zimmerman.
The MDO would like to extend most sincere congratulations to the hard work and accomplishments of the Records Department. We can’t wait to see what April brings!
