The Managing Director’s Office would like to extend its warmest welcome to Daniel Ramos, Philly311’s new Community Engagement Coordinator. In this role, Daniel will be responsible for connecting the 311 service and the Neighborhood Liaison Program to community stakeholders.
So where does the new Community Engagement Coordinator come from?
“The streets” Daniel said.
In a length, Daniel explained that he grew up in West Kensington and saw his neighborhood crippled by drugs and violence. His upbringing created a resolve to work in the community, to get his hands dirty and find solutions from the ground up. Daniel believes in a sense of community, confident that a proactive, strong bond can improve the quality of life in any neighborhood.
Experienced in community engagement, Daniel previously worked for the Philadelphia Anti-Drug/Anti-Violence Network’s YVRP (Youth Violence Reduction Partnership) as a Community Coordinator and Street Worker . In these roles, Daniel worked mainly with youth on parole to not only make sure they stayed out of jail but to support them as they worked towards employment and other productive milestones. Before YVRP, Daniel worked for RHD (Resources for Human Development) prior to his sixteen-year tenure in the army.
Daniel is tough and experience in community engagement. We can’t wait to see how he connects neighborhoods with Philly311. Welcome, Daniel!
