The PhillyRising Conference is just over a week away and pre-registration is still open. The free conference will held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 1101 Arch Street on August 14th from 9am-3pm.
Conference attendees will participate in workshops and hear presentations on: improving quality of life in neighborhoods, building community gardens, establishing resident groups, engaging youth in programs and developing career guidance workshops, among other topics. PhillyRising will also use the conference to recognize individuals and groups who have worked closely with the initiative to better their neighborhood.
In addition to PhillyRising’s staff members, other presenters will include Mayor Michael Nutter, Deputy Mayor and Managing Director Rich Negrin and Chief Customer Service Officer Rosetta Carrington Lue. The conference will also feature information booths from PhillyGoes2College, the Office of Emergency Management, the Philly311 Neighborhood Liaisons Program, among others.
