Philly311 Celebrates Mobi’s First Birthday

Last Friday, the Philly311 team celebrated the first birthday of Mobi (the official mascot of the Philly311 Mobile App.)

Born out the creativity of 311’s Maineva White, Mobi was originally created for an internal celebration of Customer Service Week.  By popular demand, Mobi quickly became part of the 311 family—attending events, celebrations and community meetings. Mobi even supported the 311 staff who worked around the clock during Hurricane Sandy.  Here are a few pictures from Mobi’s first birthday:

While Mobi is a fun, quirky way to spread the word about the Philly311 Mobile App, he is also a customer service tool. Mobi has an active Twitter handle through which he tweets about mobile app updates and offers customers support. (Click here to see what Mobi’s been tweeting about.)

The Philly311 Mobile App launched in September 2012, bringing Philadelphia’s 311 service to any iPhone, Android or Blackberry device. Through the app, users are able to enter service requests with personalized pictures and descriptions. Users can also view a requests made near their geographic location. Over the course of the year, the Philly311 Mobile App has evolved to meet the needs of Philadelphia citizens. This involved a Hurricane FAQ widget, an Election Day widget and a Licenses and Inspections widget, among other additions. (Click here to download the Philly311 Mobile App.)
