While you can still enter service requests, get directory assistance or even apply for a job with the City, there’s another reason to stop by the Philly311 Walk-in Center this holiday season. Philly311 is now collecting food in part with Philadabundance’s “Beet Hunger” Food Drive.
Philly31’s food drive, accepting canned and dry goods, is located in City Hall Room 167 (to the left of the door when you enter the room.) Philadelbundance posted this list on it’s website, outlining the most in-demand items this year:
The food drive is will be up-and-running through November. If you’re in the area and would like to help a family in our city, stop by the walk-in center with a canned good (or two!)
In addition to donating food, Philly311’s Employee Recognition Committee decided to take this year’s thanks “giving” a step father With the help of the Office of Emergency Management’s Emergency Housing Unit, the committee set up a clothing drive for employees. Accepting all gently worn clothing, all items collected in the drive will be donated to the Salvation Army. Recently, the city’s clothing drives have suffered due to a spike in bed-bug infestation. Philly311 hopes to supplement the deficit in donated clothing in anyway it can.
